Parliamentary Majority Session Held at Georgian Dream Head Office
A session of the parliamentary majority was held at the central office of the Georgian Dream.
Majority members discussed the draft law “On Deoligarchization.” By the decision of the majority, the draft law will be sent to the Venice Commission for a legal opinion.
The majority will not consider the draft law “On Deoligarchization” in the third hearing before receiving the opinion of the Venice Commission.
Members of the majority were briefed about consultations held with the opposition regarding candidates for the position of ombudsman.
By the decision of the parliamentary majority, consultations with the opposition will continue in connection with eight candidates for the position of ombudsman. The eight candidates are: Ana Abashidze, Giorgi Burjanadze, Lela Gaprindashvili, Tinatin Erkvania, Nugzar Kokhreidze, Giorgi Mariamidze, Ketevan Chachava, and Iago Khvichia.
Members of the majority also discussed issues to be considered at the plenary sessions of the ongoing session week. On 1 December, the Parliament will hear Education and Science Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli in the Minister’s Hour format.
