Greetings to everyone!
Nine years have passed since the historic victory of the Georgian Dream, and it is symbolic that today the United National Movement as a political force came to an end. One day is left until the next convincing victory of the Georgian Dream. Our citizens will elect mayors and members of local assemblies tomorrow.
Our country meets these elections with the reformed legislation and election administration. As a result of the reforms carried out by the Parliament of Georgia:
Part of party members of the election commissions has been diversified and now the 9 party is equally represented in it. This serves to the mutual control of parties in the commissions.
Among the 29 000 professional members of the election commissions of districts, 99,9 % was elected by the participation of the opposition. This fact confirms multiparty trust towards the election commission.
The 100 meter perimeter is designed for the polling stations where gathering of citizens is prohibited. Which will ensure a peaceful election environment.
10% of polling stations will be randomly selected and recounted, which together with the control of the counting results, will prevent any violations;
Video fixation of the counting process of ballot papers will be ensured and also video files will be shared in the internet for the open access of every citizen;
The electronic counters of ballot papers will be provided in Krtsanisi, Tbilisi which is an important step towards the introduction of electronic elections in future.
There are also many other changes ensuring that no one can discredit the results of these elections. Today, we want to introduce one more unprecedented novelty of the party “Georgian Dream” and to offer it to the society.
We deem that the elections itself and the day of elections, being the most fundamental moment of democracy, must be under the special attention of citizens.
To this aim, we created - “Election Portal 2021” – the special space in the internet where citizens can receive important information on the day of elections.
